Rainy Days and Mondays
![]()
It’s a rainy, cold day today. I awoke this morning to find the cats had knocked a glass off the counter overnight and it had shattered on the ground. My lettuce has gone the way of the bachelor buttons and folded. All in all, a rather dismal, dreary day.
However, I do have a lot of things to look forward to. My sister’s birthday is tomorrow. She turns 21. I’ll probably give her some of our homemade wine and the birthday present I am crafting, if I ever get it finished!
The kids went back to see their mom last night, but Big Guy picks them up again today after school. They’ll be back here tonight. It’s been kinda quiet today since school has started back up. Little Guy has been wandering around aimlessly today, missing his siblings. After a stretch like that, it’s going to take time to get back into the swing of things for him.
On the bright side, my hyacinth (singular) is blooming, my Tiger Lilies are growing and the kids’ gardens are set up. Crazy Girl is even building a mini fence around her garden. They are excited to have something all their own. Smarty Pants has already planted a sprouted onion in her garden and we’re going to plant pumpkins in there in a few weeks.
The problem with this time of the year, in Indiana, is everything is on hold. You don’t need to worry about the winter stuff any more but it’s still too cold to get into the spring stuff. You’re left waiting for the air and the ground to warm up enough to plant.
So, today is a holding day, cold, wet and rainy. There’s always tomorrow!
